My name is Stephanie and I started this company with my older brother Christopher while I have been battling my own fight against cancer. In early 2020 I was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer, ACC (adrenal cortical carcinoma). Up until that day, I had been healthy, living a wonderful life, with no family history of cancer. At first, I did not believe it. My family and friends have helped me through the difficult times (and trust me, it has been tough). I really have been through it all, surgery, chemotherapy, multiple embolizations, radiation, and two different types of immunotherapy.
As I continue on my cancer journey, my friends and family (especially my brother Christopher) help me stay positive. At a young age, like all siblings, we fought a bit but as we grew older we became so close that my cancer battle is also his fight. I see how this disease hurts him as much as it hurts me. He has seen me go through it all, the ups and the downs, always having my back and holding me up with love and support.
When I was first diagnosed and in the hospital, for the first time I was beyond scared but having my brother there helped me get through it and not be afraid. I remember on my first night a volunteer came into my room with a single flower saying, “I want to give you this flower and I hope everything is going to be okay.” This simple gesture brought a smile to my face and as soon as he left the room turned to me and said, “I want to be that guy, I want to make people happy and safe and know that it is all going to be okay. Those words have stayed with me, and I want to bring that same happy feeling into the lives of cancer patients.
